Kidz on Bikes

Kidz on Bikes is an innovative small business concept designed to introduce children to cycling on a large scale. The Kidz on Bikes program takes a trailer outfitted with 20 bikes and the neccesary equipment to run the program to primary schools Nationwide. The program is presented on the school premise and all is equipment is provided. This allows instructors to introduce cycling to kids in a safe and fun environment.

The program is based on getting kids outdoors away from TV and computers and to introduce cycling to kids as a fun sport within a safe and controlled environment.
Basic bicycle handling skills will be worked on along with nutritional advice, team building as well as low-key competition.

Cycling is a growing outdoor sport and the fitness benefits will improve overall health and fitness and increase performance for all other sports in which kids participate. Cycling skills will make all participants safer riders.
Cycle racing within the program will be used as a means to team building.

A bicycle means independent mobility for a child. Yet, too often, the child is only allowed to cycle in a safe backyard or will be chaperoned on a family cycle ride on a linear, cycle path through a country park. It needn't be like this...
Cycling also doubles as a alternate mode of transport. If introduced at a young age and proper safety measures and guidelines imbedded children might opt for cycling as a mode of transport as they get older and the transport issue presents itself.

To join the Kidz on Bikes program the following forms and conditions need to be adheared to.
1.Kidz on Bikes application form with attached proof of payment.
2.Kidz on Bikes indemnity form.

The cost to join the Kidz on Bikes 10 week program is R500-00.The program is a 90 minute session once a week over a period of 10 weeks payable in advance. There is also a once off administration fee of R50.
Should you want to use your own equipment the cost to join is R600-00.

Your Kidz on Bikes coaching team is made up of various past and present professional cyclists as well as the National Team managers, Olympic and Commonwealth Games Team Manager and Australian Institute of Sport accredited coaches.

The first session will be used to size the kids and the bikes, to fit helmets and as a familiarization session. It is extremely important that helmets and bikes are correctly sized. Kidz on Bikes sessions are designed to teach new skills in a fun and healthy learning environment.

The Eagle Canyon Cycles Academy will welcome any kids that show a serious interest in bicycle racing. While Kidz on Bikes emphasizes fun and skills,the Eagle Canyon Cycles Cycling Academy focuses on race fitness development and a higher level of skills development.
